There is a considerable peak at 45 marks, looks like some people were saved on purpose by the EC..
ReplyDelete62% having compensable fail or more, has this ever been seen?
ReplyDeleteIs this due to the pre-exam, due to exceptional knowledge of this year's candidates, or has the EC been very mild...
For those candidates who sat the 2012 pre-exam and went on to sit paper D in 2013, the results break down as follows:
ReplyDeleteHighest mark = 90
Average mark = 58.4
Fail: 22.3% (51 candidates)
Compensable fail: 14.4% (33 candidates)
Pass: 63.3% (145 candidates)
Ooops - spreadsheet error. That should be
DeleteFail: 16.9% (51 candidates)
Compensable fail: 11.0% (33 candidates)
Pass: 72.1% (217 candidates)
So what does this mean? The pre-exam has fulfilled its purpose, I suppose.
DeleteOr was 2013 on the easy side
In order to draw any conclusions, what should be compared is:
resitters 2013 vs resitters in earlier years
first sitters 2013 vs first sitters in earlier years.
If you have this data available, Elizabeth, that would be helpful.
I don't have the data for 2012, but it is available for earlier EQE years.
