Total number of candidates with a mark higher than 0: 1056

The pass rate is significantly higher than in 2012 (went up from 36% to 48.2%).

  1. There is a considerable peak at 45 marks, looks like some people were saved on purpose by the EC..

  2. 62% having compensable fail or more, has this ever been seen?

    Is this due to the pre-exam, due to exceptional knowledge of this year's candidates, or has the EC been very mild...

  3. For those candidates who sat the 2012 pre-exam and went on to sit paper D in 2013, the results break down as follows:

    Highest mark = 90
    Average mark = 58.4

    Fail: 22.3% (51 candidates)
    Compensable fail: 14.4% (33 candidates)
    Pass: 63.3% (145 candidates)

      Fail: 16.9% (51 candidates)
      Compensable fail: 11.0% (33 candidates)
      Pass: 72.1% (217 candidates)

      Or was 2013 on the easy side

      In order to draw any conclusions, what should be compared is:

      resitters 2013 vs resitters in earlier years
      first sitters 2013 vs first sitters in earlier years.

      If you have this data available, Elizabeth, that would be helpful.

    3. I don't have the data for 2012, but it is available for earlier EQE years.

      First sitters 2005:
      Fail: 37.6%
      Compensable fail: 12.1%
      Pass: 50.2%

      First sitters 2006:
      Fail:48.2%
      Compensable fail: 14.9%
      Pass: 36.8%

      First sitters 2007:
      Fail: 47.5%
      Compensable fail: 9.7%
      Pass: 42.8%

      First sitters 2008:
      Fail: 27.2%
      Compensable fail: 7.7%
      Pass: 65.0%

      First sitters 2009:
      Fail: 34.2%
      Compensable fail: 7.5%
      Pass: 58.3%
